“These lights look beautiful - very modern and an unusual style. The photos are a very good indicator of what you will get, notice how this is a mid grey finish rather than yellow/gold, and is completely smooth. Glad I picked the larger ones - they aren't oversized. I bought three to use in one room, 11W is quite bright per light so I would recommend you get a traiing edge dimmer as well (it's a shame there wasn't a matching finish dimmer on the Pooky website). The effect you get is that of an eclipse when viewed straight on - if you;re into that kind of thing. The only downside, which is a big one, is that these lights are HARD to fit if you are replacing existing lights. You might want to get a competent electrician to fit these, and be prepared to patch a few holes afterwards. For a new installation where your electrician can size the cable to exaclty the right spot and you can drill precisely, you shouldn't have a problem. IN DETAIL: There is a small central attachment circle about 10 cm across which affixes to the wall easily enough, but once you have the lamp body up to the wall you can't work in the centre because the body projects out quite far. Also, as the central attachment area is small, and needed for attaching the lamp to the wall, there isn't much chance of covering over any cable holes left from the previous lamp unless you are very lucky. This whole process is seriously hampered by the fact that the cables supplied to the LED transformer are way too short for any useful purpose. This is very disappointing for a product at this price point. Pooky - please get your supplier to increase the length of the wires!!”

“These lights are lovely and give a nice warm glow. We've actually put them in our living room leading to sun room. They are currently on a dimmer switch but actually we're going to change the switch as they're a bit noisy at full brightness, so may not be the best for dimmers depending on your requirements. But overall we're happy and so is our cat who's shelf bed is right by one as shown in the picture.”
