Hi there and thank you for your feedback. The bulbholder certainly shouldn't get hot so that is a concern. It does of course depend on the bulb you are using, we would strongly advise against using anything with a wattage higher than 40w and as much as possible we recommend using LED bulbs as they stay nice a cool. We do recommend bulbs on the product page but it looks like you may have used bulbs from elsewhere. You should find that using any of the above bulb recommendations should eliminate the issue of overheating the metal but feel free to give our customer service team a call so we can help you further on this.
