“Pets Pyjamas package including wine dine credit etc was very good value. Very dog friendly really appreciated the bowl of sausages for the dogs at breakfast. The grounds of hotel are lovely. Had a really nice stay and highly recommend. Friendly staff. It would be nice though to have more vegetarian options on the menu.”

“We had a one night stay at Bagden Hall Hotel whilst briefly visit relatives nearby. So pleased to find it and we will return. Very dog friendly and the staff were all excellent. We were really surprised by the value for money with the Pets Pyjamas reservation.”

Would you like to add any more feedback about your stay? The rooms really need updating, special touches would really help provide a more welcoming atmosphere

“Our stay was ok, was disappointed with the rooms, we had The Lakeside room at the start of our stay. But was moved two nights in for our last night due to the toilet leaking, the furniture and fixtures and fittings were tired and dated, so didn’t give the feel of luxury you would want from such a gorgeous house and grounds, the second room we were given was a suite, very large and impressive ceiling height in the main house, but again lacking the feel of comfort and luxury you would expect in this type of room, the lighting also was not great in such a large space. Although staff were helpful and friendly to us and our dog, the personal treatment for River, in terms of treats in the room etc, and other things like that, which we experienced in our other accommodations on our journey just wasn’t there. The breakfast and dinners with your dog was quite far from the main restaurant, so in the morning to get to the juice and pastries you had to go through the bar, then a hallway, then reception then into the restaurant to gather your bits, so you felt segregated from the dining experience and almost second class citizen, frequently forgotten as a result, it also looked like it was just put in as an after thought due to tables being placed in front of closed doorways leading to a venue for weddings, It’s such a shame, because on the face of it, it should have been a perfect stay.”

Hello Jo, Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback following your stay. I’m sorry to hear that, while there were some positives, the experience did not live up to the expectations you understandably had for a property of this nature. The Lakeside Room and the Suite should provide the comfort, quality and sense of luxury you would expect, and I’m sorry that the tired furniture and fixtures, as well as the lighting in the Suite detracted from your stay. Having to move rooms because of the leaking toilet would also have been an unwelcome disruption, particularly during what should have been a relaxing break. We are pleased that you found the staff friendly and helpful, but we absolutely appreciate that, when travelling with a dog, the little touches and feeling that your pet is genuinely welcomed can make a big difference. Your comments regarding the dining arrangements are especially useful. I can understand how having to navigate through the bar, hallway and reception simply to collect breakfast items could make you feel separated from the main dining experience. That certainly isn’t the impression we would want guests and their dogs to have, and I’m sorry that you felt forgotten or treated as an afterthought. It is a real shame to hear this feedback, particularly as you recognised the beautiful house and grounds and felt that, on the face of it, it should have been a perfect stay. I will make sure your comments are passed on to the hotel so that they can be properly considered. Thank you again for taking the time to explain your experience so thoroughly. “Bagden Hall is a hugely impressive hotel set in acres of landscaped and wooded land. The staff were supportive and provided Sammi with a sausage breakgfasat each day. We were accommodated in a separate bloc from the hotel but no complaints about that as it was quite okay to leave our dog in our room while we went to dinner.”

“Lovely hotel in lovely grounds. Very dog friendly and perfect grounds to walk the dog. Very clean and comfortable lakeside room. Also very quiet. Good food and great breakfast. Two night break with pets pyjamas was great value for money.”

“We had a large and comfortable room which was clean. The bathroom could probably do with being updated but everything worked. The evening meal was delicious - all 3 courses and breakfast was freshly cooked and very good. We ate in a specially allocated dog area but the tables were nicely laid up and the service friendly and attentive. We really enjoyed our stay.”
