“We stayed for a short break over New Year. The cottage is in a beautiful location with the countryside on the doorstep in the heart of the New Forest. The cottage has a secluded garden which is secure and our dogs loved it. Accommodation is cosy but the stairs and upstairs floorboards are very squeaky and need fixing as it makes every step very noisy. The beds were very uncomfortable and you roll down in the middle unless you sleep alone. The upstairs double bed had to be fixed as it fell apart when I sat on it. And it squeaks every time you move. The downstairs bedroom was rather cold and the small heater was not adequate to keep it warm in winter. The patio door was sticking and difficult to open so we used a side door to cover the area outside instead. The pool table was not in use but plenty of movies to watch on Netflix on rainy days. Kitchen appliances are good and you can cook anything if you wish. Plenty of dog-friendly pubs to eat out at. We enjoyed our stay. Not the place to stay if you have a horse allergy though.”
