The hotel was beautiful, the staff friendly, welcoming and helpful, the food was delicious. The bedroom was large and comfortable, they also put out a dog bed bowls and treats which was really nice of them, would recommend. Easy walk into town to have a look round.

We stayed 3 nights in a spacious lodge room number 27 just a very short walk to the hotel reception and dining areas. We had bed and breakfast plus evening meals which were extra cost. They had a very large selection for breakfast from cooked breakfast to cereals fruits yoghurts etc. The evening meals were lovely well cooked and well presented. We had drinks outside on the patio area in the warm sunshine which was very nice. All the staff welcomed Finn out little terrier he made lots of friends there. We had all our meals in the conservatory as we had the dog it was very clean and tidy. It was only a ten minute walk into town to all the lovely shops and pubs which welcomed dogs as well. Would highly recommend The William Cecil Hotel was a fantastic venue

Would you like to add any more feedback about your stay? The town of Stanford is very nice .
What a palaver!! Booked the william cecil through pets in pyjamas but upon arrival on an extremely hot day with 2 dogs in tow we were told that pets in pyjamas had not confirmed the booking (denied by them) therefore there was no room for us however they had upgraded us to their sister hotel just down the road. This was a luxury room.we were astounded that this was the case and that we had to stay parked at the william cecil and carry our cases down the road ,up a flight of narrow stairs(both have disabilities) to what was a room above a pub! The Bull and Swan, the room was OK,dated 1 useless fan on a very hot day,and soiled under bedding. The bathroom was very nice and well equipped. The breakfast the following day was excellent. The dogs received treats and sausages for breakfast and were well catered for. I contacted Esther at pets in pyjamas and she is looking into why we were turned away and why we ended up staying at a pub. Staying above a pub and staying in a 4* hotel are totally different and not what we had booked. Waiting for a response from pets in pyjamas as we are not satisfied whatsoever.

We found the hotel very friendly. The room was comfortable but a little tired and in need of some TLC. Lots of stains on the carpet. We had everything we needed for one night stay. Our dog is a labrador and we brought his own bed with us. There was a dog bed supplied but more suited to a smaller dog. We had a nice Sunday lunch in a party of 6 and then drinks and nibbles Sunday evening. The bar tender was super friendly but waitress we found a little on the rude side. We had cheese board and charcuterie but they were a little disappointing for the price to be honest.
