“Stayed for a couple of nights and found the staff to be very welcoming and nothing is too much trouble. Rooms were nice and clean and shower was good. Lovely cooked breakfast with plenty of choice each morning. Food nice. Large beer garden in front of the hotel with lovely views. Very dog friendly.”

“We had a lovely stay. Our room was warm, comfortable and clean. The staff were very friendly and ensured we had an enjoyable stay. The food was very tasty with plenty of choice and large portions. Great location with plenty of walks starting from outside the hotel. Would have no hesitation in staying at the Royal Hotel Dockray again!”

“The hotel was very warm and cosy. Staff were friendly and very approachable. Food was delicious and plentiful! The Royal is well situated to go to Ullapool Keswick and even Windermere. What more could you want?!”

“Had a lovely 2 day break at this relaxing and friendly hotel near stunning Ullswater. Excellent value for money, great food and a warm room to retire to after a long day’s walk. Our Irish Terrier was made very welcome in the bar area and made friends with other guests!”

Would you like to add any more feedback about your stay? The only thing missing was a mirror in the room as well as in the bathroom

“We had a brilliant night at the Royal. The staff were really welcoming as were the two real fires! Great room which was really spacious with everything we needed. Food was absolutely delicious as well. They also were really dog friendly so our cocker spaniel felt at home as well. Thank you for a great stay- we will definitely be back”

“We stayed here in November just before a two week shut down as they were upgrading some of the bedrooms. We requested a quiet superior room because of our dog. We had a lovely big room at the top of the pub,recently renovated. Not suitable for those with mobility issues due to stairs. Fine for us. Breakfast was lovely. Plenty of choices. We dined in the pub at night. There was a decent amount of choice and all well cooked. Pie night is Monday and not to be missed. Lovely bar area with open fire. From arrival to leaving there was no problem with our dog from staff and other residents. Dog biscuits on the bar. Help yourself.”
