Did you and your dog receive a warm welcome? Yes
Did you feel your stay was good value for money? Yes
We booked a one bed cottage but got a two bed on arrival (as we took our lab with us) It had everything you needed and was lovely and clean and fresh on arrival with a little welcome pack of food. We had a half board package which the food was amazing on breakfast and dinner. All the staff couldn’t do enough for you. Would definitely recommend. We ate in the bar area as we took our lab with us but this was a lovely area. Definitely worth a visit.

Would you like to add any more feedback about your stay? Communication both prior and on checking in needs improving. I called ahead a couple of weeks before our stay to book an evening meal on our first night, to be told we had been booked in a non dog lodge but this could be corrected and a evening meal booked for us. However on checking in there was an attempt to charge us for the dogs until reception found our booking. This was then ok but no record of our evening meal booking was present on checking in. Thankfully we could be accommodated. Whilst this did not spoil our stay it is obvious there are definite short falls with communication at the reception desk. All other staff during our stay were very friendly and helpful
Having booked a superior lodge in the hotel grounds with a sea view we were not disappointed. Our lodge was lovely and very dog friendly with good convenient walks right outside the door of the lodge. Having read a previous review I expected we might be eating in the bar area and in fact this was the only dog friendly place on offer for having food. However the staff were very attentive so this did not spoil our stay.

Beautiful setting, lovely cottages dog friendly, plenty of dog friendly walks. One complaint if you wish to take your pups to eat at manor there is only one option being the bar area. After a 5hr trip we were obviously hungry and asked on our arrival for a table for 2 people with and was told that would be fine in the bar. After a freshen up we went to bar and the guy behind bar didn't know anything about it, eventually took order, after receiving starter we waited an hour for main course in the end asking if they had forgotten about us, which I think they had...meal was then served within 2 minutes. We ate in the restaurant whilst we were there and service was excellent, it just felt that if you had dogs and were eating in the bar you were forgotten about and made to be second class citizens. The next night we went into the bar baring in mind it was only 6.30, we hadnt booked on this occassion and asked if we could eat in the bar, he said " i dont know know if they can fit you in, i will ask"....after 2 hours he never even had the curtesy to get back to us with an answer, we ended up leaving with bags of crisps and a mars bar, looking in the restaurant where there was only 8 people? The 2 English guys in the bar seemed to need further training and were too interested in serving drinks into restaurant leaving the bar unattended for patrons wanting just a drink. Also they had no customer service skills. Saying that, meals were good quality albeit a bit pricey and the menu didn't change whilst we were there. Reception/Restaurant/cleaning staff were all good. Overpriced

Would you like to add any more feedback about your stay? The food in the restaurant in the evening was very poor. A very basic menu which didn't change during our stay. My husband and I had food poisoning one night which we reported to the hotel but we have not heard from them.
We were very disappointed with our trip to Trenython Manor. We had specifically asked for a dog friendly room in the main hotel but were "up graded" to a lodge. The lodge was very basic to say the least - a very small bed and bedroom and basic bathroom. One of the pleasures of staying in an hotel is having dinner and then retiring to bed - not quite the same when one has to put up an umbrella and run back to one's accomodation and no cleaning service or change of bed linen and towels. We told the hotel immediately that we were not happy with the accomodation and it was not what we had booked but they said it was all that was available.
