Did you and your dog receive a warm welcome? No

“When we checked in there was no welcoming spirit. We were handed a piece of paper and I needed to ask where our room was and whether it was ready. The male receptionist tried to charge me again for the room. Lack of interest in their guests. Turning to the positive, the room was pleasant with a garden view and the room was very clean. The waitresses at dinner and breakfast were very welcoming and accommodating. I wouldn’t stay here again however.”

“Lovely, lovely hotel with great staff. We were made to feel extremely welcome throughout our 3 night stay and it was really helpful that we were able to have the dog along to enjoy the walks and the trips out. The fact that there were dining areas where we could also have the dog with us was also a nice thing. There were only a couple of other dogs at the hotel during our stay, so it is not by any means overrun with hounds! Also acres of grounds surrounding the hotel made dog walking a pleasure. Great stay, we would highly recommend this hotel to people both with and without dogs!”

Did you feel your stay was good value for money? No

Would you like to add any more feedback about your stay? The restaurant is outstanding and excellent value.

“The staff could not have been more dog friendly and the room was well equipped. The public rooms, especially the bar, lounge and breakfast room, are delightful and attractively decorated. The room in the "garden wing" was in need of some TLC. The gardens are a work in progress with a pond under construction at one end and a collapsed wall at the other so it was hard to avoid muddy paws. It would have been very helpful to have had either a fenced patio or a fenced section of garden so that dogs could have a run off the lead.”
