The Moorland hotel was superb. The staff, food and rooms were excellent. We were able to walk the dogs in the lovely gardens and/or straight out on to the moors. The views were stunning. The boot room had wellies to borrow and dog towels and just outside a warm shower/bath station & for the dogs.

What a fantastic find. Excellent stay at this hotel. The staff, food and facilities were fantastic and we were able to walk across the road and be on the moor was superb. We used the local taxi company to take us down in to Bovey Tracey including Max the dog.

The hotel location was amazing, the staff were great and treated our little dog like a prince throughout our stay - he even got a sausage while we enjoyed a cooked breakfast! We have already recommended to family and would definitely stay again!

We stayed for one night and wish it could have been longer. The Hotel is situated in the Dartmoor National Park and HayTor is it's next door neighbour - amazing walks right on the doorstep in addition to the Hotel's own gardens. We were in a Superior Double Room which was very spacious and had patio doors directly into the garden - always a bonus when you've got dogs. Dog bowls were provided and our 2 boys were cooked their own breakfast sausages making them feel even more spoilt than usual... The food was excellent, the Hotel was spotlessly clean and the staff were very helpful and friendly. Nothing was a problem. This has to be the most dog friendly Hotel at which we have stayed and therefore gets top marks from us !!

We arrived for a 3 night stay to find a dog bed, bowls, and tennis balls for Poppy our 9yr old Airedale Terrier. The room was beautiful with patio doors straight into the stunning grounds. The staff were all lovely and there were dog treats and water bowls in the bar. There is a secure field you can exercise your off lead dog. The best and most dog friendly hotel we have stayed in. There were lots of treats for us too with a fresh coffee maker and biscuits and lovely touches such as relaxing lavender pillow spray and a hand written message wishing us a happy stay. We will definitely be back.

Very well situated for walking on the moor and large garden for dog-walking. Very convenient ground floor rooms, food generally very good but a bit more bacon on the plate at breakfast would have been good!

This hotel is very well placed for exploring South Devon & the surrounding areas with Dartmoor National Park being a 5 minute walk away it's a walkers paradise with stunning views. Hotel has a boot/dog washing station, huge plus for rainy days. We were advised the room we had paid for had issues so they had moved us to another room, a small double & in lieu of the room issue hotel comp'd our meal. The change in room meant smaller room, tight for storage & alot smaller bathroom, but we coped for 3 nights. Room itself was clean, lovely touches with Dyson hairdryers, Roberts radios, nespresso machine, direct access out to the garden - housekeeping work very hard to maintain standards & are clearly very busy but our room was missed on one day. Staff are very friendly & helpful, breakfast food was fabulous, our dog was able to have a sausage every morning at breakfast, bar menu was adequate, would be good to see more vegetarian options available, great selection of beers on the menu. Information for dog owners concerning dogs on leads, location of bins, boot/dog washing station would be really helpful. Overall was a pleasant stay, the hotels proximity to surrounding areas is a huge plus, we would stay again but ensure we had a larger room.

Our first visit and we hope to return. The dog friendly rooms are excellent and though we didn’t use them, we appreciated the dog washing facilities. Staff were helpful and friendly and we felt very relaxed staying with our dog.
