Would you like to add any more feedback about your stay? The state of the garden is all that let the cottage down a little bit.
We had a lovely stay at Gardeners Rest Cottage with Barney our 6 mths old Golden doodle. He loved exploring the grounds around the hotel. The cottage was cosy, very clean and well presented. Lovely comfy, huge beds. I couldn't fault the place at all and I'm not easily pleased. Although please note; there is NO log burner. We had a few chilly evenings outside, but the cottage was very warm. We even had to turn the radiators down and open the windows to cool it down. The enclosed garden was a nice surprise, as it wasn't mentioned anywhere, including the Grinkle Park website. Although this did need a bit of TLC, ironic as it's the Gardeners rest!! Also it has a shower cubicle in the downstairs bathroom, another surprise. The food hamper was a lovely treat and also there was 2ltrs of milk in the fridge - a lovely touch. The cottage is a great base for exploring the North Yorkshire coast. We had lovely days out in Whitby, Scarborough(North bay has a large beach area for dogs. It's also close to Peasholm park, which is worth a visit) and Saltburn.

Lovely stay in this cottage bedrooms are big Lounge is very small a bigger tv on the wall would have been nice and not enough comfy seats for 4 adults (only2 can sit on settee ) others have hard chairs!! could have put an l- shaped settee in there which would have been nicer saying that very clean we had a great stay very quiet place it had a garden but wasn’t a garden you would want to sit in , it had a table and chairs out there but we never used it definitely needs a new patio out there , shame about the lounge not cosy enough to be in it for any length of time

Would you like to add any more feedback about your stay? If the sat at doesn’t tell you to turn at the lodge but takes you to the next entrance turn round and go back to the lodge. There’s a co-op in Staithes which is a 5 min drive
We stayed here in April. It's in the beautiful grounds of Grinkle Park Hotel and all you hear is birdsong. It's a birdwatchers paradise, we saw many different birds including treecreepers nesting in a fir tree opposite the kitchen. The cottage is a 5 min drive to Staithes which is the nearest beach. It doesn't have a log burner as stated in the description nor does it have views. The food in the hotel is ok but not great and it is expensive. On arrival we were greeted by Tammy who is lovely and directed us across the car park to the cottage. The cottage is beautiful, lovely welcome basket but no treats for the dogs which would be nice when they know there are some staying. We always take plenty of towels and I put one inside the door at the back. Downside to the cottage is you can't control the heating as the timer is set by others. We stayed during a cold spell and late afternoon the cottage was very cold and the heating doesn't come back on until 530/6 pm so I'd recommend taking a throw or something to snuggle under until it warms up. You can tell it is run by a hotel and not private as it's quite basic. Although overpriced for 2, we would stay here again for the tranquillity.

I would definitely come here again. Decor was beautifully done. Location only 6 miles from the sea at Saltburn Locked in back yard so our dogs were safe. Lovely welcome basket was a nice touch. Only minor worry was the carpets are beige. Weather was wet and we were concerned about getting mud all over the place. Fortunately, we took large towels with us. Staff in the hotel very friendly.
