“Beautiful accommodation Ideal location for the city and green space Lovely food and fabulous little bar Restaurant and Lounge areas very relaxing The free pantry is a gem of an idea Staff friendly and attentive Loan of the Brompton bikes an added bonus for riverside rides - all in all a great break away”

“A lovely place to stay with our dog. The staff were all really helpful friendly and welcoming. They seemed to enjoy having dogs to stay (rather than just putting up with them). The hotel is well situated for getting into York City centre - about 5/10 mins walk either directly along the main road or, more scenically, along the river side path taking you into the Museum Gardens. An excellent short break.”

“We were looked after extremely well. The room was comfortable and the staff were friendly and helpful. It was an easy walk into York and there was secure parking which had to be pre booked.”

“Had a lovely stay at No1 by Guesthouse - lovely quiet room. Great location, easy access to city centre. Hotel is very dog friendly. Didn't eat in the hotel as they moved our table booking to a time that didn't suit us so we went out to eat (can recommend Ambiente Tapas - dog friendly). Breakfast in the morning was at the hotel and was very good and our dog was able to eat with us. There is a little green just down from the hotel for those early morning calls of nature!”

Would you like to add any more feedback about your stay? You need to book parking at the rear of the hotel; the car park is a wee bit narrow so large cars may find it a bit tight. It is manageable so not a negative, just an awareness comment.

“We run a dog-friendly self-catering cottage business 2 hours from this delightful venue so we have a lot of experience to benchmark against. Going away for us is nigh on impossible so to have had a break with our Siberian Husky was a double delight! The staff at No1 by Guesthouse were truly brilliant, lovely and so 'dog-first' as well as being very happy people to interact with; nothing was a problem with all questions dealt with, with a smile/laugh and happy pleasantries. The hotel itself was stunning in its new presentation having benefited from a renovation late last year. Nothing to fault at all here. There is even a free Pantry where one has access to crisps, cakes and ice cream (Yorkshire makes of course) which was a super surprise. The atmosphere is one of relaxed opulence and where staff are professional and personable. Highly recommend this venue for dog trips to York.”
