Would you like to add any more feedback about your stay? The whole of Holt seems to be a paradise for dogs and there are many dog-friendly beaches less than 30 minutes drive.
A very nice, very friendly hotel. Despite the fact that they were very busy, the staff were very helpful, and the room was comfortable. The breakfast was great and the bed was one of the best I've ever slept in at a hotel. The staff really went out of their way for our dog, with a bed provided including a towel, treats and a new ball. It made such a difference having a hotel going out of its way to welcome our dog rather than just putting up with her. We will definitely return.

We stayed in The Lawns room 26, described as a Best Room. Best Rooms are advertised on The Feathers' website as having views over the garden or rooftops of Holt. Our room overlooked the car park, so not entirely as expected. However, the room was of a good standard, spotlessly clean and comfortable apart from the couch in the bay window which was painful to sit on. There was also a problem with noisy plumbing coming from the en-suite. The overall management, of both The Feathers itself and The Lawns needs improvement e.g. no dedicated reception staff in evidence upon arrival or check out. No general manager to speak to about any concerns and it would have been professional of Charlie to have met up with me given the glitch with my booking on the day before my arrival. However, we have nothing but praise for the staff serving breakfasts and the two Lawns housekeepers, especially Nicola.

Just returned after a very lovely, 4 night stay at The Lawns part of The Feathers. Amazing room with the biggest and most comfortable of beds, kettle, coffee making machine and, an added bonus as we paid for our dog too, a bed, towel, treats, paw cleaning wash and water bowl. Our room had a second door which opened directly on to a patio/lawned area which was very well maintained and lovely to sit out with the September heatwave bearing down. Only downsides were, bath instead of shower with no overhead shower just one attached to the bath, we weren’t told there was a fridge in the small couch area where cold milk was kept so we had to get some every night from The Feathers; and finally, no bar! They did used to have a large bar (makes sense with the amount of picnic tables, smoking receptacles outside) but this was removed when they refurbed. They definitely lost our custom here because despite being told we could get our drinks from The Feathers, we went to Budgens instead and saved ourselves a small fortune! If we were going to navigate a narrow pathway for 100 metres or so, we may as well double the walk and pay less. Car park was also a bit on the tight squeeze size. Reversing in meant not being able to open the boot, driving forwards meant a bit of an Austin Powers faff to get out. Not the end of the world but the unbearable heat in the car made it more stressful. All in all, will definitely stay there again. Breakfast at The Feathers was great; a good variety and cooked well and the walk there was lovely although would be pretty rubbish if the weather was wet/snowy etc. We had a great time and was a good base for our favourite haunts.
