Would you like to add any more feedback about your stay? We found it quite difficult to understand the rules with regards to swimming. It says they have a child swimming session 9 to 11 a.m. and as we had our granddaughter coming to visit we wanted her to have a swim with us. It turned out that we could actually take her in any time as we were staying at the hotel and the timed swim was for memberships, but it wasn't made clear to us this was the case. We did take her swimming and I have to say that the people who obviously have memberships to the gym and spa were not very polite and took up most of the pool swimming lengths for quite a long period of time. We tried to stay to one side of the pool and enjoy our time but considering we also paid to use the facilities, I found their attitude a bit off. One man got quite vocal and used expletives to vent his frustrations, which is not acceptable in front of children. We were not the only hotel guests in the pool with children at the time.
From the moment we arrived all of us were made to feel welcome by every member of staff, including Lilly our dog! The room was excellent, on the ground floor and had lino rather than carpet! For us that is always a plus because dogs do have accidents, no matter how well trained. The areas we could take our dog were great, the Courtyard was lovely and we didn't feel like we were second class citizens. The problems we encountered were someone complaining about our dog barking in the room when we left her for half an hour to go and have a drink with friends (they wanted to go in an area that dogs were not allowed). It was only 8.45 and as this hotel is advertised as Pet friendly I do think perhaps people who don't want barking dogs should maybe give it a miss. The other problem we encountered (it was school holidays) was children screaming and running up and down our corridor at 6 a.m. We just put it down to excitement and carried on. Didn't see the point in complaining as it is not an adult only hotel so children do stay there and can be noisy!

Would you like to add any more feedback about your stay? A very 'dog-friendly' hotel. You can take your pet there with confidence.
We had a super family birthday along with Louis our Italian Greyhound. The hotel Team took the time to make our pet's stay very comfortable, too.

Would you like to add any more feedback about your stay? The area for exercising the dogs was described as a paddock on the web site, this was an open grass area at the end of the car park, although adequate was not contained.
We were looking for an overnight stay on our way to Northumberland with our two dogs. We were delighted with our stay at the Thorpe Park Hotel and found the staff most welcoming and certainly dog friendly! The rooms were equipped with two dog beds, bowls and welcoming treats and we were able to have a relaxing evening meal with the dogs in the Courtyard restaurant.

Spent 2 nights here, food was good. Staff are great and make the hotel what it is. Dog friendly. Would definitely stay again. If I had to find something that could be better it would probably be the dog poo bin needs emptying more often.

The hotel feels very luxurious with its lovely environment and top standard rooms. It was a real treat to be able to stay in this hotel especially when we take our dogs everywhere. I had just completed the Leeds half marathon and so it was a good treat to come back here to rest and relax. The staff are amazing and can't fo enough for you. The dogs were loved and we were able to sit in the lovely bright courtyard area for breakfast with them. We also were able to sit in the bar area for drinks and lunch. The waiting staff are top notch and extremely attentive. Rooms lovely and the dogs got treats , bowls, balls and a bed and towel. We will definitely return to this hotel.
