Would you like to add any more feedback about your stay? We feel we deserve better than a short trip around Mrs Pumphrey’s house and a brown paper bag of food which was given as a ‘sorry’.

“Garden not safe for dogs or small children, and as very close to A road, this is vital. Very Large fringed rug in lounge dirty. Tried to hoover. Hoover clogged and bag split. Had to roll fringe ends up as really yukky. Mop filthy. No dishwasher, tried to wash grubby glasses and cracked/grubby mugs but no bowl in sink. No cups @ saucers, table mats or coasters.Went and bought new mugs and bowl. Found used lighter in washing machine; strong smell of smoke in chest of drawers. TV not as described; didn’t work; they replaced next day, but it wasn’t very good. What a shame - could have been great. Better after we had spent one of our holiday days cleaning and sorting it out! Great location for famous spots close by, but NO information book for guests, so fabulous park 3 mins away in car for dog walking not found til day 4! No land safe for dogs off lead close by - or was there!?!! We had booked 2 properties, one after the other, obviously expecting dog safe gardens. The first one in Rutland was safe; the second very dangerous.”

“Beautiful cottage, lovely decor and a great place to spend Christmas! However the rear garden is NOT dog proof with metal farm style fencing with large horizontal gaps meaning unless you have a really big dog, most will easily get through - some strong chicken wire would be the best solution - other than this a good place to stay!”
