Did you feel your stay was good value for money? No

Would you like to add any more feedback about your stay? no-one actually asked about the dogs or if we had everything we needed for our stay. We were very disappointed with the quality of the accommodation for the price we paid.

“Lovely location and grounds, however the property itsself left a lot to be desired. The carpets were old and worn and there were lose floorboards in the living area , which if we had had children with us would have been dangerous. Linen etc was clean and fresh but the property itself smelt of damp / fusty. The property needed painting and generally freshing up - this would have made all the differnece. We apprecaite that the property was made available for residents with dogs, but at the cost per night they were charging we expected something of a higher standard, as having dogs shouldnt mean inferior standards .”

“We booked in the morning and arrived in the afternoon. The staff were very friendly and offered all sorts of suggestions for your stay. We were delighted to discover bonuses of the pool/sauna etc table tennis, pitch & putt. It may need an update/makeover but we absolutely loved our stay and have recommended it to our friends.”

“Arrived a little earlier and we're given an upgrade to what was originally booked so that was a lovely surprise. Accommodation was clean and modern and fully stocked. Grounds were immaculate but exteriors of properties , window frames and wooden fences were very tired and in need of refurbishment and a lot of the windows and patio doors had seal problems so had 'blown' so a little exterior maintenance was needed. Raj at the pub and restaurant was excellent and welcoming and food was superb. Location and views are unbelievable. Bluebell hillside walk up the camp was a treat. Lovely mini break .”

“Everything was fabulous except for the accommodation itself which was 'tired' and in need of refurbishment. Old and sun-damaged curtains which did not close and a mattress which was as hard as sleeping on the floor.”

“Due to the very hot weather we did NOT take our dog with us However the hotel is not to be recommended, service staff were obviously in short supply and so was the availability of food On the 1st night we were told that the kitchen was finished at 7.15 pm as the chef had had a long day! After complaining bitterly we were eventually fed On the 1st morning we had breakfast but had to pay £10.50 On the 2nd morning we were told that they only do breakfast at the weekend but again after complaining we were given a complementary cup of coffee Though the grounds appeared well kept the building is tired and in urgent need of TLC John H Robinson”

“Macdonald Plas Talgarth Resort looks and feels tired. The two-bedroom apartment we had was very large and accomodating however the carpets were stained and the water pressure for the showers was poor. The restaurant was closed for refurbishment so we ate in the bar area. There was a lack of staff which we were told would be rectified at the beginning of April. Basically, the resort could be so much better with investment as the facilities are there but need a makeover.”
