“At first when I read that De Vere wokefield Estate was set in grounds which had become golf courses I wasn't keen on the idea as golfers not keen on dog walkers on their terrain but decided to try. I was pleased to find out the back of the vast old mansion was not for golfers and our dog could run free towards a pond surrounded in trees. The room they gave us had twin beds which I hadn't asked for but said I would accept for such a short stay. We had to collect our breakfast, which was good, and eat it in the bar or garden as no dogs allowed in the restaurant.”
