“Fabulous hotel, staff excellent, location facinating (full of history right on the doorstep). Our springador has a wonderful time and was welcomed with open arms. I would recommend this as a great place to stay in lovely Suffolk. Breakfast amazing.”

Would you like to add any more feedback about your stay? We were presented a bill for the stay but after some checking it was sorted out. This is a recurring issue with Pets Pyjamas bookings.

“The hotel was very pleasant and we enjoyed our stay. Dogs welcome everywhere even in the restaurant. Lovely helpful staff. The restaurant is excellent and the bar very relaxed. The bed was missing its two posts as show in the picture above which slightly detracted from the perfect impression. USB points would be useful in the bedrooms. We would stay there again and recommend it to friends. Long Melford is very beautiful and has a very special church.”

Would you like to add any more feedback about your stay? I'd still recommend this venue. I just expect to get what is advertised.

“The staff were super friendly and the ambience was spot on for us: we all (dogs included) loved the bar. The bar/waiting staff were all excellent. Our room (the best King) was well appointed and comfortable, although the carpet needed a deep clean. (My dogs live in my house all the time and my floors are cleaner!) The information sheet in the room said if you stayed more than one night, your room would be serviced: ours was not and the empty glasses from our first night drink stayed on the side until my husband took them down to the bar. The food was fabulous - credit to the kitchen brigade. However, the 'dog plus factor' was not as billed. The dogs were made welcome, but we were not offered the doggy welcome package on arrival.”

Would you like to add any more feedback about your stay? The dog bed supplied for our pooch was so good I'm now trying to track one down on line so he has one at home!

“Lovely short stay in Long Melford. Very accommodating for our small Schnauzer who got lots of attention. Good comfortable clean rooms. Excellent food - both dinner and breakfast the next morning. Great location to explore Suffolk.”

Would you like to add any more feedback about your stay? We felt comfortable and safe with the Covid precautions in place

“We enjoyed our stay at the Black Lion - beautifully presented and relaxed setting with lovely walks nearby. The staff were friendly and helpful and it was great to have a gorgeous enclosed courtyard to sit in with our dog. The niggles we had were the complicated shower system which was too low for anyone taller than 5ft 8in, and the fire alarms which would flash green in the dark every 30 seconds disrupting one’s sleep. This was both in the main bedroom and the bunk bedroom and in the latter, the light was only feet away from my daughter on the top bunk which unfortunately affected her sleep.”
