“My husband and I travelled from the Midlands to the Lake District and chose this hotel as we were taking our dog with us, we booked via pets pyjamas. Upon arrival our dog was warmly greeted and we checked in. The location was lovely. Our room was on the first floor(not particularly great with a dog), along a warren of corridors and no offer of help with any luggage despite the route being very up and down on various stairs. The room was 'ok' , very tired but clean, tiny TV and very small bathroom. I assume the dog friendly rooms aren't up to the standard of 'normal' room's, if I hadn't got our dog with us I would have been disappointed with it. Water was hot but shower pressure very weak. Unfortunately our dog was taken ill during our first nights stay, staff were helpful in providing hot water and honey for her. We asked if we could take breakfast in our room because of this, this was agreed but we had to fetch this ourselves although we did enjoy the meal. We had to leave after one nights stay so sadly didn't use any facilities although the gardens looked nice. I appreciate that our dog being poorly was no ones fault but no offer of any voucher, etc was forthcoming, hotel blamed pets pyjamas and visa versa. Do I think it was worth the £378.00? If we had stayed for the 2 nights I would still have thought it expensive, having physically only been there from 6pm till 10am it was a very expensive sleepless night.”

“Very friendly and helpful service from the moment I arrived with Holly. With an immediate offer of a bowl of water for her. Nothing was too much trouble and Holly received lots of attention by staff and other guests. Beautiful location just a few mins walk to lovely Grasmere village itself. Would highly recommend.”
