Lovely clean flat - needs more information/instructions. As it was raining heavily most of the week we needed the central heating on to dry clothes and air the place. There was no info regarding how to work the heating. We asked Coast and Country who sent a heating engineer around who admitted he was trying to understand how to stoke it up. The boiler had also been switched to summer mode. In this Country I think places need to be set up for all types of weather. No soap, cleaning products to use so we ended up buying our own to ensure the place was clean before leaving. The most important issue was access. Fire escape stairs, which were wet all the time with large puddles - completely dangerous, an accident just waiting to happen !!! No lighting to walk down the stairs at night. We had to use our phone torch. The courtyard - grubby with rubbish bags. The choice was then to go through a door, passage, then x2 more doors which took you out to Foss Street. The doors were stiff to unlock due to the rain and the wood expanding. Or... to go over a low wall with the only access being a wooden step which needs a risk assessment by Health and Safety. It is completely and utterly dangerous. I am bringing this to attention as this is the only way to get out of the flat by A:- down the fire escape and through the passage or B:- down the fire escape and over the wall with an iron gate leading into a parking space all very grubby with an old dog bed, oven, and plastic glasses dumped. We had to carry our little dog out of the flat everytime. Unfortunately the exit situation was not mentioned in the advert. These holiday let's cost a lot of money - more so now and this one is unsafe. We feel that there will be an accident occur and compensation will have to be paid. Surely it is better to address this situation now. Would not stay again - shame
