Would you like to add any more feedback about your stay? Rural living for your break -not luxurious living
We stayed in a wooden cottage which is very basic and a step up from camping which was a very surprising. They were not sure about where we were to eat with our dog so initially put us in the upper level of the restaurant and then next morning is a private meal room. It was beautiful trees and wilderness but not quite what we were expecting-roads are dirt tracts. Need to be careful with dog running around as there are trenches to remove rain water -lots of squirrels so if your dog chases them this place is not good for off lead or you might not see the dog again

Would you like to add any more feedback about your stay? Not worth the money , have emailed you guys but you said you take no responsibility. So upset disappointed as it was a surprise for my wife's 50th ... a rubbish one
Basic standards in the Room and then lodge not good , Breakfast not good, shell in scrambled egg, not a lot of choice. Dog tolerant not dog friendly only certain areas dogs allowed . Staff are nice Needs a good clean , maintenance needs addressing, better leadership and management presence. It is set in a lovely place and with more attention to the cabins and lodges send dog friendly rooms etc could be lovely

Underwhelmed by size of cabin the pictures on website are deceiving and no wonder there are no pictures of the bathroom, the cleanliness of our bathroom was appalling. We stayed 3 nights but only because we had travelled down from Hamilton and couldn’t find any other accommodation at short notice. Be aware of weddings be held close by and the noise if you are on a walking holiday in the dales may keep you up. Be aware that dogs are only allowed on the decked area at restaurant where we had to clean our own table 2 mornings out of 3. The staff were friendly and very attentive and they are the only reason we left 2 stars, needless to say we won’t be returning.

Hello Sarah, Apologies for the delay in responding to your review of the Chevin Country Park Hotel however we now have a statement from them - 'Unfortunately the hotel has experienced problems with staffing due to isolations / sickness / general shortages which have affected the hotel industry and we have certainly had our share. We have had many new starters over the last few weeks and have established routines in place. The business is calming down, whilst still busy we are able to manage the flow of guests better through the Hotels facilities, and whilst we still have weddings taking place, they were happening through the midweeks as well, which has now returned back to just the weekends. With this we have been able to refocus on the standards, looking at our food offerings and also started on a program of redecoration for the bedrooms and cabins as we are able to put off a few rooms at a time to be worked on. Chevin is the perfect location for Dog walkers, and all dogs are allowed in all cabins and lodges. Guests will be served in a separate area of the restaurant, but this should not affect the service and quality of food received. Breakfast is a plated service so should not be impacted.'

Unhelpful staff. No outside light near cabin. No table both inside and outside. No chair inside. Unable to get a meal as fully booked.

As per the title, the whole place is dated and showing signs of ware and tare. Very much in need of a makeover. The food was good quality but unfortunately it was consistently served Luke warm at best. Shame really as all the staff are very friendly, the setting is great for a country getaway.

Lodge with hot tub lovely, Not happy with service for breakfast or evening meal, if you have your dogs with you (they put you in a separate room and the food and coffee was cold, and table not set up on time, was still full of last peoples dishes to be cleared away However on our final day two of the party did not want the breakfast and the dogs stayed in the lodge with them. The three of us went for breakfast and requested to go in the normal dinning room and the service and the food was much better. 4 stars for the lodge and facilities, but only 2 for service if you have dogs with you.
