Did you and your dog receive a warm welcome? yes
Did you feel your stay was good value for money? yes
The staff were absolutely amazing, everyone (including Colin & Alan the miniature dachshunds) very welcome at anytime; on arrival, breakfast, dinner and they even dog sat our little ones whilst we had a spa! I couldn’t recommend highly enough. The rooms were clean and a short walk to outside for our little ones number 1’s and 2’s! Very convenient, nice walk around the grounds too.

Would you like to add any more feedback about your stay? I’ve said dory didn’t receive a warm welcome. Only one waitress made a fuss and offered her water.
We stayed at shrigley hall over the weekend for my girlfriends birthday. The place is nice. And it’s a lovely location. The room wasn’t the best looking. Old furniture, carpets that looked abit worn but it was a dog friendly room. The staff are mixed really. Some really nice but others abit clueless. Got told we couldn’t eat with the dog at breakfast by receptionist then another person over heard and said we could if we sat at the top and out of the way. We didn’t receive the wine we were promised and wasn’t any treats left like it showed in pictures. Angela did ask for me to go back to reception and tell them but it was always rammed with check ins. And in the end I just left it. The room was on the 3rd floor which wasn’t the best if the dog needed the toilet urgently. The food was expensive. And as someone who has coeliac disease (so need gluten free) all I was offered was a sandwich which was on gluten free stale bread. Even the chips I couldnt eat. The spa is the best thing about the place. If you book this hotel make sure you get the afternoon spa retreat. We were suppose to stay for two nights but on the 2nd night our dog somehow got a ulcer in her eye. And we needed the emergency vet which was on the other side of Manchester. So we packed up at 11pm and just left. I tried to use the free vet you get with the package but it said I needed to pay £20 just to have a video call. So yeah the experience was mixed. I’d go again for the spa. But maybe not to stay. Only one waitress made a fuss over the dog and gave her water once. Another time I paid £4 for a bottle of water to give her.

The hotel itself is very impressive on arrival and the reception staff were friendly and efficient. The bedroom was clean, although the bed was very small, I did like that the floors were wooden should your dog have any accidents. The Courtyard Bar was lovely and the staff were lovely (Wes and James in particular) but the food, frankly, was awful. We paid £30 for a linguine and a pork dish which looked and tasted as if it had come out of a packet and had been microwaved. The breakfast was mediocre too. The other thing I would say is that some of the communal areas need a thorough clean. The window sill next to us at breakfast, was covered in dust and flies and we found the same in a seat in the bar. Our 3-night stay was not expensive but it could have been better.
