“While the cottage was lovely there was some aspects that were not detailed correctly and had a negative impact on our stay. The detail regarding the property stated there was an enclosed front and back garden. This was important to our stay as we had a Great Dane puppy who is excitable and we ONLY booked this property because we thought we could leave front and back door open to allow the puppy to wonder freely. Upon arrival at the property it was advised that the front garden was used by other people and dogs were not to be left unattended. Also the fact there was no lock on either front or back gates with an increase in dogs being stolen this was also a worry. It resulted in me calling the people who were coming to stay with the Great Dane and advised not to bring him which caused stress and upset. If I had been notified of this then I would never of booked this property as it did not suit what I needed. For a dog friendly website I think this is vital information that should be shared. Also the fact that I had a very angry neighbour bang on the door to tell me to move my car while in the enclosed front garden which I was advised I could to give more access to the “public” footpath. Also stating the property is “close” to the train line is an understatement. The line is directly next to the property and this is also something that should be mentioned. As I stated the cottage was lovely and the gifts left were a nice touch, however I booked this property based on the information provided and if I had been given the truth I would not of booked the property so was left very angry and upset and it affected my stay as we had to change plans and even ended up leaving early because of this. It’s unfortunate that this was the case but again as stated for a dog friendly service I feel these things should be mentioned especially when you have to state what dogs you have. A front garden with access to other houses and both back and front gates with no locks is an important factor for dog owners.”
