This is our fifth visit. As always staff are polite and go out of their way to help you. Rooms are all beautiful. Spa is one of the best I have visited. Food is innovative and delicious.

The hotel is beautiful and great location and staff are very friendly. However, the accommodation and service was poor. We went for THREE nights. We were given a room initially that was very tired looking, dark and in the eves of a cottage. Poor plumbing kept us up most of the night if anyone used the toilets in rooms below. After complaining...they kindly moved us the next morning to a more modern room in another building which was lovely. However, our 14yr old was given a bed that was for a very young child and therefore it meant I had to sleep on it, while he slept in our double bed and I had two very difficult nights sleep. Sadly the hotel could not give us a larger room as they were fully booked. Also we had a dog we could not eat in the main restaurant ( which is perfectly understandable) and sat in the lounge...which was fine but service was poor as they tended to forget we were there. We luckily only ate dinner the first night in the hotel...and we found it very over priced. Our son ate from the adult menu...which was a three course meal and we paid roughly £70 for him alone. As the children's menu was very limited and portions were small. Overall, not the most restful weekend we had hoped for. However, our dog had a great time..and the Spa treatments were excellent...;-)

From the moment we arrived to the moment we left, we were looked after and more importantly so was Mabel! She loves the water so a 10 minute stroll to the beach was perfect and the Ruff & Tumble coat we received on arrival came in very handy! The food was great and nothing was too much trouble for Chris and his team. Already booked to return next year!

Had a fantastic night here to celebrate my husband's 40th and my dogs 3rd birthdays. The staff were so wonderful and they really spoilt my dog! We were treated to some great gifts in our room and we loved the convenience of being able to order drinks to our room. The grounds are beautiful and it was so cool to see the peacocks! The beach was just a stone's throw away and was quiet and very dog friendly. Can't fault our stay at all.

We had a marvellous welcome and despite having 3 large dogs were made to feel as if we were 'at home'. This is a fabulous dog friendly hotel - not one that just pays lip service. There is loads of space for dogs to exercise and it's just a short walk to the pebbly beach. The food was exceptionally good! The lemon tart is possibly the best I have ever eaten! Dining with the dogs was easy. There are several small lounges which make perfect dining spaces for guests with dogs. It feels like private dining rather than being excluded from the dining room! All the staff we met were charming and helpful. We only had a short stay so didn't have chance to use the spa facility - but it looked splendid!
