“We had a lovely stay at the Green Dragon with my husband and our young labrador. We had a good sized superior room with a small en suite bathroom, all very comfortable. The food at the hotel was excellent. We had a great dinner, bed and breakfast deal and the food was very good. As we had a dog we were unable to use the restaurant but they set up a table in the lounge for one evening, and Mac set us up in the beautiful private dinning room for another, as the lounge was being used for a pre booked function. We had to have breakfast in the bar which wasn't ideal but we understood why. The hotel was situated near the cathedral with grounds so ideal for early and late dog comfort breaks with parks within short distances to let her off for a run. The parking at the hotel was limited but we had easy parking on the day we arrived so easy to off load all the usual stuff, especially with a dog (parking is behind the hotel on the opposite site of the lane through a narrow arch but it has camera security so we were very happy to pay a little extra at the hotel for this). We would definitely make a return visit. All staff very helpful and nice to see a hotel with old world character. According to the locals it was the best hotel in Hereford with lots of overseas visitors staying there. Thank you Pets Pyjamas and the Green Dragon for a well needed weekend away”

Would you like to add any more feedback about your stay? Love Hereford love the location but not really dog friendly so doubt whether we will stay here again.

“The location of this hotel is ideal easy access to the town and a lovely walk in the cathedral grounds almost opposite the hotel. The room was clean but quite dated but we expect that when we take the dog. The staff were friendly but were not really sure how to manage a booking with Pets Pyjamas they initially charged us for our stay including the dog. It was very confusing as we had already paid via our booking with Pets Pyjamas and dogs are free. Just hoping that the hotel refunds us ! Breakfast was a bit disappointing as we couldn’t eat in the restaurant with the other guests as we had a dog so we were asked to eat in the bar area on our own . Felt a bit miffed given as the hotel is supposed to be dog friendly.”

“Whilst the hotel was ok. I wouldn’t call the ‘luxury’ ‘refurbished’ apartment, luxury or refurbished. The carpets were worn and stained. The light fittings ancient. There was rust around the bath taps and pink mould on the tiles. The beds were uncomfortable. Overall dirty and unpleasant. As for dog friendly. Would definitely question this. No garden? That would be the first thing I would look for in a dog friendly hotel. First floor room. No treats. No bedding. No one even looked at our dogs. Definitely a difference between a ‘dog friendly hotel’ and a hotel that accepts dogs. This was the latter.”
