We were booked into the Darjeeling room. Beautiful room with a lovely en-suite bathroom. Bed was really comfortable. We had a door that led to the outside to make it easier to take the dog out for comfort breaks. The only drawback was the hotel is right on the road and so we had to make sure our boy was on a lead so he didn’t go into the road. Breakfast was included and was lovely with a good selection. The hotel does not offer an evening meal but there are many lovely places to eat in the doorstep. He had a fabulous meal in the Huntsman pub which is a 3 min walk away.

Unfortunately my wife and dog became ill on the day of travel so were unable to travel. I contacted the Thatched Coittage Hotel and they still took our whole payment. The reason is they have a 7-day cancellation policy!!!! It is impossible to know you are going to be ill 7 days before it happens.

Would you like to add any more feedback about your stay? Car parking was very limited we had to pay in the village car park and move our car later. Our room was small and at the entrance to the accommodation so was quite noisy. The shower rail was hanging off so had to gingerly shower. We just felt what was a r
We felt there was more negatives here than positives - breakfast was OK. In a lovely area of the New Forest though.

There as a mixup over the booking not down to the hotel and yet they managed to resolve and move us to the annex building which suited us better. Room wasn’t being cleaned during stay due to Covid but that was fine and top ups available for consumables. Breakfast really good. Staff very friendly/helpful. Really enjoyed our stay and would definitely return.

Would you like to add any more feedback about your stay? Historic double room bathroom not really suitable for the older generation.
Good hotel but not particularly pet friendly from a garden point of view. Morning ablutions were a bit of a problem but we overcame them. The hotel is on a main road. Otherwise staff brilliant. Breakfasts brilliant, gin bar brilliant. Room historic therefore interesting and nothing too much trouble. for staff.

Would you like to add any more feedback about your stay? The Hotel is very close to a few pubs, we had food at the Foresters and the Snake Catcher, both very good. We went to Highcliff and walked to Mudeford, with our dog, lovely walk along the beach
Parking at the front of the Hotel was a problem, there was not always a space, that's the only negative. The staff were great, very friendly and helpful, the breakfast was all freshly prepared and of a very good standard.. We sat in the garden one evening and had a couple of gins, the hard part was choosing which gin to have. It's was a shame that we couldn't have fitted in a couple of extra nights
