“The site is in a very shabby state with very little maintenance carried out and the cabin was in a poor state of repair and condition. The hot tub was not checked at all in the week for water safety, despite assurances in their info pack that a daily check would be carried out. The oven, hob and microwave all in a rusty state and parts were missing from the gas rings. The gas safety inspection sheet was for a different chalet and was out of date. The lock to the chalet was faulty and would not have been adequate to exit in an emergency. The front cover of the gas boiler was missing and we found it later in the week in a kitchen cupboard, and at the same time we came across a used cigarette butt. The bed linen and towels were in good condition and clean but the overall cleanliness of the chalet left a lot to be desired. The leather settee was ripped and in a shabby condition and not at all comfortable to sit on. The only road to the site is extremely narrow with few passing places and in an emergency would be very difficult to access. On a positive note, its in a peaceful location and would probably have been lovely 30 odd years ago but now sadly is overgrown and run down with no management on site, or a manned office. There was a phone number to call but the mobile and internet signal is patchy.”
