We were absolutely delighted to be able to get away again, and really enjoyed our stay at Swallow Barn. The owners are just next door, and very welcoming and helpful without being intrusive. All precautions were taken for the Coronavirus and the accommodation was clean and comfortable. The back garden and field behind are safe for dogs to run free, and there are many local walks across fields. As the area is agricultural with few in the way of farm animals it is fairly safe to let dogs off lead, and our Springer Spaniel took advantage and really enjoyed himself. We also got a sighting of a local and regular barn owl flying over.

We all had a fabulous time, very clean. In a peaceful location with plenty of outdoor space for the 2 dogs to play. As the barn doesn't have wifi its mobile signal was non-existence within the barn we had to go into the garden to get a signal, which meant we had to put the TV on to listen to the Radio. While the bathroom / wet room is beautiful it would off been nice to have a hose of the shower also to wash the dogs after a day at the beach.

We had 6 nights at Swallow barn with our two Border Collies. The cottage was very cosy and extremely dog friendly. Our day would start with a long, (muddy), walk along many well marked footpaths, mainly across fields. The cottage is within easy reach of much of what Suffolk has to offer, Bury St Edmunds, Aldeburgh, Snape Maltings, Sutton Hoo, Lavenham and much more. Most evenings were spent snuggling with the dogs on the Sofa in front of the log burning stove. We loved the large secure garden for the dogs, (South facing I think, so wonderful in Summer I guess). The owners are very friendly and helpful. With everything possible provided for pooches, humans are well looked after too with White Company towels and linen, a lovely wet room and much more. This is a real rural retreat which means no Wi-fi in the cottage. If this is important to you then this may be a concern but if you fancy a break from such things, this place is for you.
