“Beautiful setting, staff lovely. Quite nice size grounds for our dog. We requested a room with a courtyard but unfortunately that didn't happen. We had to go back to reception and get moved which was all sorted out. The room was lovely but it was the little things, like a handle missing off the chest of drawers, the bathroom door wouldn't lock, no fridge, no pen or paper. The room was also very dark but that's understandable considering the ago of the building. Bit restricted food wise unless you want to go to the Michelin restaurant. Breakfast was nice but to be told they had no butter when they bought our toast was a bit poor. But eventually they did find some in the end. When we checked out we were asked for payment even though we had already paid so that was a bit embarrassing. The staff had to ring their accounts department to confirm we'd paid and we were asked several times oh are you sure youve paid £20 for the dog bit embarrassing. It got sorted in the end. Overall lovely stay, with a bit of money invested it could be a 5*”
