“The place was fine - clean and comfortable, although rooms aren't serviced unless your stay is longer than 3 nights. Basic toiletries and amenities are included provided. The bathroom in our room could do with a deep cleaning. Breakfast certainly lives up to the reputation! It's because of the (lack of) dog-friendliness that I took one star off. To start with, dogs aren't allowed in the main house; I could understand the expectation to keep them off the dining area, but the lounge is also off limits. Dogs are only allowed in the rooms, and are not to be left alone or outside a crate - doing so is at the owners own risk (of extra charges should anything happen which, again, is understandable), even when they're left behind for breakfast. There were no dog beds or toys upon arrival as advertised, although the bowls were certainly appreciated. All in all, we enjoyed our stay at Newton House, but I would encourage PetsPyjamas to check the accuracy of the venue description on their website.”
