Surroundings for walks and swimming for active dogs is beyond great, Great pub close by 5 minute walk away from Lodges and super friendly for your furry friend, lodges are lovely well equipped clean and spacious, however definitely not 5 star with exception of location and scenery, I would also note the lodges are not detached and very little separated garden space meaning if there is an antisocial dog next door to you it will be a struggle to get your own dog outside your Lodge for any decent amount of time, also they don't allow dogs upstairs in bedrooms so if your dog is used to sleeping in the room with you and would be bothered by this in new surroundings just be mindful when choosing.

Lovely and peaceful. Great walks, Balmaha village a short distance. Reggie loved his first holiday (and the treats!)

We enjoyed our break away from normality in this peaceful part of Scotland. Sadly the on site coffee shop was closed which we weren’t aware of when we booked but there is a nice one in the village of Balmaha itself. Amenities are lacking in the village so I was glad we came prepared. Lodge was a good size with good initial supplies thought of for a self catering holiday. Cleanliness could of been better, couches were dusty, remote controls dirty, cobwebs on ceiling in living area and velux on stairs. Dining table wasn’t clean and mats hadn’t been wiped. Hot tub was green and smelly, definitely needed chemicals topped up! Nice touch left for dog with towel, water bowl, poo bags and biscuits. Limited walking after dark for dog though as lodge area is very poorly lit which at this time of year is really from 4pm. Some nice post lights on path from lodges to beach would of made a big difference. We got from the break what we needed which was rest and time together but wouldn’t return.
