No welcome drink or breakfast sausage for our dog - when I queried it I was told that Pets Pyjamas were not good at letting the pub know what they should be providing. The room was very small with minimal storage space - three drawers (with some missing handles) in a writing desk, and some coat hangers on three coat hooks by the door. Had we had a larger dog, we wouldn’t have managed. We had to leave our coats and boots in the car as there wasn’t room for them. The shower room was so small that there wasn’t room to dry off after the shower, as the basin was in the way. We have stayed in many old pubs, and know that rooms can be small in older buildings, but this was ridiculous, when it is marketed as dog friendly. Also - a plain white duvet cover with no throw or other cover in a dog friendly room? We booked a table for dinner for both nights, the second night (my birthday) there was no record of the booking, and the restaurant was full. We ate at a table in the bar by the kitchen, so staff were coming in and out very frequently. Not the special meal we had anticipated. Our room was not made up on the second day, when I mentioned this I was told I should have asked for it to be done at breakfast as the staff couldn’t enter the room without permission. I have never experienced this in any other pub/hotel. Having contacted Pets Pyjamas about this 11 days ago, and asked for an update 4 days ago, I have not had any updates. I would not feel confident booking through you again.

Had a lovely stay with my sister and her Cockapoo along with my 2 Labradoodles, made to feel welcome. They enjoyed their sausage for breakfast on the second morning. Good walks in and around the very pretty village.

We booked 2 nights for our wedding anniversary and had Room 3 (which was above the bar area). The first night was great, the food was lovely and so was the service. The room had a great bathroom and a dog cushion was supplied ( nothing else for dogs do take food bowls etc). The breakfast the following morning also great and the lady gave us some great tips for walking. However it went down hill from there. There was a large party of 14 booked as a result the staff seem rather flustered. We ordered our food which came in good time but was a completely different meal to what I had ordered ( later found out the chef had changed it but did not update the menu or the staff!l). It was also a Friday night so the bar was busy. Having the Room 3 whilst very nice, we then had the issue of having to go down at 11.40pm to ask the Manager when it would quieten down, only to be told within the next 30 mins ( so basically midnight). We were not happy with the response and there was no mention of it the following morning. Seemed to be little regard for those staying as you would think that they would know the walls are paper thin! Breakfast the following morning was the same however no sausage came out for our dog. I'm glad we had £25each per night towards the food otherwise it is extremely expensive for what you get. Overall it was pleasant stay but would have expected more for the money.

I was put in a room above the kitchen with a extremely noisy extractor fan. I was told it will get turned off when the kitchen closes. Moved to a room next door for the second night. The food was delicious, rooms lovely so it was a shame I checked out a day earlier than planned.
