We loved our 1 night away and so did our hound! She adored sitting in the bedroom window seat watching the walkers and horses passing by! The room was lovely and Simon and Caroline were lovely hosts where nothing was too much trouble. We appreciated the tips for local walks with gorgeous views and we intend coming back again! Thanks so much for a relaxing break

Would you like to add any more feedback about your stay? Will probably go there again in the Summer.
The Notley Arms Inn is a traditional Village Inn with some selective interior improvements. Very homely & comfortable nuance with various types of seating. Nice Real Ales, excellent selection of wines & a wide range of spirits. Also a nice cocktail choice. We were staying for 3 days over Christmas on a B&B basis + an additional priced 5 course Christmas Day Lunch. We also chose to have dinner on the other 2 days. All the food was delicious & we were provided with a platter in our room on Christmas Day Evening. The room we stayed in was on the first floor of a separate accommodation building & again was traditional with brown furniture & a 4 poster bed. The en-suite bathroom had been converted in recent times to modern standards. Very comfortable room with tv mounted on the wall & tea/coffee making facilities. Parking was directly below our window with space in total for about 10 vehicles. We had our 2 border collies with us who soon made themselves at home & had a Christmas toy in the room for them. The hosts were very warm, friendly and great conversationists and nothing was too much trouble. Local walks included going through an old churchyard towards the rear of the Notley, access to fields for the dogs & a loop the loop around the village. Overall it was a lovely break and I would recommend The Notley Arms Inn wholeheartedly.

Simon, Chris and Caroline could not have been more welcoming! First time in 45 years we have spent Christmas away from home and it was amazing! Food was brilliant and the fires and leather sofas just urged you to relax and chill ! The dog was spoilt and on Christmas Day Santa had left a very generous goody bag! Hosts were full of o formation about local spots to visit and walks…. Over too soon but determined to go back ! What a hidden gem! What the host does not know about cuisine and wine could be written on the back of a match box!! Not sure we want the world to know about this jewel on the edge of exmoor!

The hotel was lovely, perfect location for walking, large comfortable rooms, good food and very dog friendly. We had a lovely weekend. However, we did feel that it was a tad expensive for what it was - especially the food. The food was lovely but it felt like they were penny pinching at every corner. The cooked breakfast was very nice but small with options of only cereal, a pot of yogurt and toast. I expected some fresh fruit, Greek yoghurt and choice of juices plus some other breakfast options such as smoked salmon and scrambled egg or eggs Benedict. Similar with dinner - portion size very small. Some bread to start and some vegetables on the side would have made all the difference. I am not a big eater but I can only imagine how disappointed someone with a larger appetite would be, especially after s full day’s walking.
