We stayed here twice - on the way to and from Scotland. What a great place. The staff are fantastic. The food is superb. The rooms are extremely comfortable. We were made to feel very welcome from the minute we arrived and everyone made a fuss of our little dog. Thank you. We will stay again on our next trip to Scotland.

We all, including Phoebe our Pug/Terrier cross, found the Bear's Paw a perfect overnight stop-over on a car journey from Scotland to South Wales. There were a number of 'pluses' for Phoebe - she was allowed to be with us for both an evening meal, in the restaurant, and breakfast,in the bar; she could have had food from her own 'doggie' menu; there were bowls and a mat in the bedroom; there were a number of longer walks from the hotel if needed; there were 2 areas of grass adjacent to the car-park, ideal for late or urgent calls. All in all, very good provision for dogs - and also great for humans.

We stayed for one night at The Bear’s Paw with our Golden Retriever, Monty. What a find! A lovely setting. A beautifully modern feel whilst retaining the historic character. Very friendly, helpful and efficient staff. We were made to feel very welcome, especially Monty. The food in the evening was excellent and we had a very comfortable night. 10 out of 10 for everything, especially the staff.

Staff very warm and inviting nothing was too much trouble. They were prepared for Tedis visit who is diabetic and requires insulin. The staff were all made aware that it needed to be kept in the fridge. The room was exceptional more like a boutique suite. Breakfast was served quickly and hot with plenty of variety. The bar staff were knowledgeable about the bears and wines. There was a varied menu and food was available throughout the day.

Had a lovely stay here with my dog - another great recommendation from Angela. Lovely room, great food and perhaps the most dog friendly place we've ever stayed!

Amazing hidden gem set in the beautiful Cheshire countryside. Lovely place, very welcoming to dogs and humans, gorgeous rooms, amazing staff. Couldn't have asked for more. Ignore reviews saying no walks. Pub has a brochure with 4 walks direct from venue and there are lots of others within a short drive. Very high standard of food with lots of choice. Dogs not only welcomed but encouraged everywhere. We will definitely be back and have no hesitation recommending to others.
