“I’ve been using Microsheild Ultra on a sandstone and brick property built around 1914. The property had to be chemically cleaned And re-pointed and needed to be re-sealed. The product works well on the brick elevations but I’ve found that it’s advisable to put at least a couple of coats on the stonework - especially if there are old cement based repairs and wide pointing. I still have a few problems where there are horizontal sections of stone and water rests for long periods but I can’t imagine that any sealant that maintains the character and colour of the stone could do any better.”
