Donnington is a superbly crafted apron fronted loafer with saddle detailing and highlights Barker's fine attention to detail. We have been working with Barker to create a range of quality Cordovan footwear.  We hope to offer the Donnington in a full size range soon, but at present only the size 8.5 is available; this was the production sample for the shoe and is of full production quality. Thank you for your review of this style, we are pleased to hear you like the cordovan. We are sorry to hear it does not fit as well as you would like. The shoe is made on Barker's 463 last - which is a used on quite a number of styles in Barker's range. It is a last which is know for fitting true to size, so it is surprising to hear that you found it fits larger than expected. It is possible that in this last you perhaps do need a smaller size. It is worth noting that sometimes loafers can fit a little loose because the do not have the fastenings of lace-ups. It is possible that the insertion of an insole will solve the sizing issue - we would recommend you try this. Of course, we are always able to accept returns for ill fitting footwear as long as they do not show signs of wear.
