“I've ordered a Papier diary every year for the past five years - they're lovely books, well made and well printed with some stunning designs, beautifully wrapped and swiftly delivered. I've just received a new 2024 diary and I appreciate some of the updates, especially the double bookmark so you can keep track of months as well as weeks. BUT... I think sadly this will be my last year for three reasons: 1 - because there are fewer new designs I like, 2 - because there's too much text which can't be personalised, I don't want anything except my name and the year on the cover, not irrelevant phrases made up by Papier, and mainly (and this really is the killer) 3 - you seem to have changed the paper stock so it's thinner and my fountain pen ink now bleeds through to the other side of the paper. It still feels nice, a bit smoother than previously, and fine if you're using a biro or similar but I'd bet quite a lot of people who pay over the odds for a fancy hardback diary will be keen on a nice ink pen too. So overall a bit disappointed, I'll be looking for a new diary shop next time :(”

I'm so sorry to hear that you are disappointed with your item received this year. To address some of your concerns, I can assure you that the paper thickness remains unchanged across these products, but availability of the paper we source can differ due to global supply chain changes, so we may swap to alternative materials to ensure we are able to produce our stationery and keep it in stock. This may be why you've noted a change in your paper from year-to-year, and I do apologise if what you've received this year feels too thin. We also are constantly adding new designs created by both our in-house design team and external partners, chances are - next year (and throughout the year!) there will be even more designs available for you to choose from if you couldn't quite find one you loved this time around. I will certainly share your feedback with the team regarding the possibility for editable phrases rather than these remaining embedded within our designs, as I do appreciate that not every person will resonate with every phrase we use.
