Everything you could ask for about the Panther Ausf D. Superb drawings including individual plates to make it easier to make measurements of a kit or scratch-built parts. The detail level is insane even to my OCD brain. Awesome volume in an awesome series, it totally replaces the earlier volume in the series and pretty much everything else TBH.

The Panzer Tract series provide a concise and comprehensive review of the design and development of the subject model. They are accompanied by clear and complete drawings that illustrate the design and details. They are fantastic value for money. Panzer Tract No5-1: Oz.Kpfw Panther Ausfuehrung D is no exception. It delivers on all the features that one has come to expect from this series.

Good to see these publications being reprinted as I had missed a few when originally published

Additional content for this new edition makes it worth getting (for me) despite having the original.

It is one of the longest volume in the Panzer Tracts series and it is not a coincidence - this book focuses on the development work, which lead to the Panther tank, containing early sketches, meeting excerpts and dozens of CAD drawings. Its attention to details is second to none. My favourite part is the summary of modifications introduced during its short production. Excellent work!
