This is the second in a series covering the German forces defending Normandy against the Allies in 1944 and focuses on troop deployments on the Cotentain Peninsula. The detailed research covers deployment areas, Orders of Battle, commanders and equipment. There is also a profusion of very well detailed, coloured maps. This book and its predecessor provide unparalleled depth of information on every aspect of German preparation for the invasion. I eagerly look forward to the next publications in this series.

A worthy companion to volume 1A. Defending Normandy has been everything I expected when I ordered it: a forensic study of the German forces defending the Cotentin peninsula, as well as their fighting over the Normandy campaign. All of this drawn from a wealth of primary sources rather than a rehash of previously published histories. Definitely recommended!

Very detailed continuation of the Cotentin operations .Only slight let down by the relative lack of illustrative material regarding personnel.
