An unusually large size hardcover, well purposed to show off the excellent, detailed photographs that abound in this book. Part of a three volume set.

Excellent photographic study of "Wiking" in 1944. The absorbing photos are reproduced in large format, on quality paper stock. Beginning with parade ground images, which introduce various divisional personalities, through rail and road in-transit shots, to operational photography in Poland. Very evocative imagery of "Wiking" Panthers & SPWs maneuvering in wheat fields, lightly forested areas, and villages. Battle-hardened grenadiers and infantrymen are also featured, to give the viewer an inkling of how gruelling and challenging Eastern Front combat was. Plus informative maps, photo captions, leader biographies & order of battle appendices. Well worth your money, to transport you back in time.

This is a fantastic book in all respects, excellent quality paper and binding along with amazing quality photos re-produced in large scale providing excellent clarity and definition. Probably the best set of books (including PK Cameraman and Unternehmen Ilse) for close up details of kit, vehicles and uniforms.
