“As a retired, professional artist, pastels isn't something I've needed to use in my work before or felt I wanted to try. So this was a good way of giving something different a go. They are absolutely lovely, the colours are amazing and enticing to use, the magazine is so inspiring and the whole box is such good value. :)”

“The soft Pastel box comes with a good selection of vibrant pastels and some very useful tools for beginners (like myself) to explore. The magazine showed some inspirational examples of artist’s work in this media. And I love the blank cards with envelopes that accompany every box. I haven’t given full marks because I would have preferred the box it include pastel colour paper rather than the mixed media paper. Also I n my opinion the tutorials in the magazine are disappointing as they focus on recreating the exact picture rather than techniques and skills, the cat and sunset pictures are a little tawdry. Even so, the box would make a lovely present for someone interested in making art and it is good value for money.”

“This was a high quality box with great colours and materials. I hated the medium of soft pastel because of sensory issues with chalk like textures but I gifted it to my sister and she is loving it.”

“I've decided that I'm not a fan of soft pastels. I don't like the feel nor the dust. Despite this, the Artful box of soft pastels is good value for those who do like soft pastels and /or want to explore the medium. Excellent range of colours and always fantastic to see what artists who use the medium are making via the magazine. My only critical feedback on the box would be that maybe I could use a few more tutorials or tips on how to get beyond my pastel phobia - might be hopeless, but I'm willing to try. I like looking at them. Wish I could get past the feel of them.”
