“I avoided square bars as I read they can be more noisy. These aero bars are good (I don't have any experience of alternatives to compare I'm afraid). Maybe wing profile ones are better? Once I got up to about 45mph and above there is a definite low pitched noise. The day after fitting I was going on a 250 mile trip so decided to remove them and I think that was probably a good decision when traveling at motorway speed. It took a couple of hours to fit them initially with help of a friend but once fitted to suit my vehicle it only took 10 minutes to remove them and about 20-30 minutes to put them back on. I'm not going to be traveling too far with the bikes or traveling far on a motorway so I can put up with that. In general I don't do many long journeys at motorway speed so they can remain fitted for most of the time. They go on pretty easy at first assembly/fitting if you assemble the entire thing before you go anywhere near the car. Don't be tempted to ignore the instructions and fit the brackets to the car and then fit the bar to the brackets! The only issues I had were one of the bolts wouldn't fit the threads so I needed to run a tap to open the threads up (hence help from a friend with the right tools) and also the lockable covers didn't fit without a slight adjustment which caused some initial frustration. Overall I'm happy with the product, it's fitted solidly to the car and the bike carriers attach really easily. So for someone like me who doesn't do many high speed journeys and just wants to go somewhere within an hour or less of home with the kids it's ideal. So far so good.”
