This were ordered to replace the Thule systems we'd had on previous cars (2005 Honda Accord Tourer, without rails, and VW Passat/Tiguan with rails) which didn't fit our current car. They are obviously significantly cheaper than the Thule system, and when they arrive and you start to install them it's easy to see why. The Thule systems took me mere minutes to install, but the Farad system took significantly longer. The instructions are not particularly clear or easy to follow and they take quite a bit of assembly. I'd read reviews that said the same, but I usually discount them, as people generally like to complain rather than praise. However, any review that complains about the instructions is valid, believe me. One thing I will say, is that a lot of review complained about noise in use. Not something we encountered. Now this may be due to the three little 'blades' that are included in the pack, which you fix to the bottom of the front bar. I presume this does something to disrupt the airflow and thus reduce wind noise, but with the bars installed correctly (think like an aeroplane wing), they were fine at speeds up to 70mph, although audible from 40, certainly not intrusive - and bear in mind, our car has no engine noise to drown it out ;-). All in all, a decent budget alternative to Thule, but you do get what you pay for, and be prepared for some installation woes.
