I hadn’t heard of Farad brand of roof bars (having always used Thule), but these look very good quality and fit well. Instructions to assemble bars take a bit of navigating as they are pictorial only, with measurements for front and rear transposed, but all clear once you set to work. Various forums suggest that VW recommend you shouldn’t fit roof bars on the ID3, but there are marking in the top of door openings that quite clearly direct where bars should be placed. The outer door seals are diverted by the foot clamps so I don’t think it would be wise to leave bars in place during long spells of wet weather. They are so easy to put on and off once set up, so I doubt that’s really an issue.
