“Wore Tecton X on Lakeland 50 this weekend. The shoes performed very well, it was raining and wet most of the race, the shoes were very comfortable, gave excellent grip on wet rock and surprised me that they were also good on skiddy mud (I was conserned that the ‘tread’ would not be deep enough for technical trail but this proved not to be the case). I was also concerned about the large area of rubberised EVA in the middle of the sole however there was no damage to this during the 50mile race. The shoes drained well and provided good protection for my feet. The midsole and plates provide one of the best ‘rides’ and protection that I have experienced on a trail shoe, I was aware of the trail surface but the cushioning was just right (I did however change the insoles for the original Enertor ones that I use in all my shoes - although the Hoka ones would probably have done the job); the stack height and drop are ideal for me. I ordered the same size as my Carbon X and Rincon shoes (10 U.K.) which is half a size up from my inov8 trail shoes. I would have preferred a slightly more neutral colour than bright orange as the shoes have absorbed some of the Lakeland bog”
