“I have been running in Altra Lone Peak 4.5 for some time, mostly on trails, very little road up to event distances of about 55miles and found them fantastic however l wanted to up my event distance and thought a shoe with a little more cushioning would help, after emailing Northern Running and being given some great advise and choices, l picked the Olympus4.
My initial impression of them out of the box was how big they looked (l take UK 9.5) and obviously with more cushioning the shoe felt a little stiffer in the hand, my first run out of the box was a 30 mile trail run, the shoe doesn’t feel as responsive as the Lone Peak ( but l wasn’t expecting it to), as with the Lone Peak the toe box gives plenty of room for the feet / toes to breath and spread, they did feel a little plody initially but that feeling soon disappeared as l settled down into a lower cadence as the miles built up, they are definitely more cushioned and my feet could tell this at the end of the run.
Overall very happy with purchase and look forward to wearing them out.”
