The boots are light and very comfortable. There are 2 areas where they could be improved: grip, 1. because they have zero heel lift there isn't a step across the sole that can catch on wet rocks when descending hills. Perhaps stuffs would be better. 2. I had to return my first pair because they leaked. The replacements are fine so far but my wife's, that are a 2/3 months old are starting to leak.

These are amazing, like wearing slippers on a hike! Boots usually shred my ankles, due to a bit of haglund's, but these put no pressure on my ankles at all. The zero drop is great, too! Waterproofing works. I simply can't fault these in any way.

I had a pair of the lone peak 4.0 mids had for nearly 2 years and lasted well but starting to come apart. I just got the new all weathers and the first thing I noticed about them was they feel like a hiking boot but they are a trail runner. They are extremely sturdy in the sole which is an obvious improvement on the lone peak mids. They definitely feel waterproof as well and above all extremely comfortable and lightweight. I got these as I do long distance walks and wanted something that gives ankle support. The ankle support on these vs the lone peak mids is vastly improved and these are easier to get on and off vs the lone peak mids. I would highly recommend if you are seeking a trail shoe for hiking.

Only had these a month so far and completed a couple of long hikes, At first were tight on my left top of the foot but have now loosened off. Very comfortable and yes waterproof which was a reason for me getting these. The grip does not seem as good on wet surfaces as the lone peak 4 maybe as they had more of a softer rubbber sole and these are harder but may wear longer. All in all very pleased with the lightness comfort and look. Taking them up the Peaks tomorrow for a long rocky wet boggy walk.

Second type of Altra boot I've owned. The previous (3 of) had eVent on the outside and it just crumbled. Latest has eVent on the inside, so probably much better. Boot less flexible and narrower up front but ok. Needs wearing in for me. Best I've found so far (wide feet with bunions) so we'll see..... Hope the 'waterproofing' lasts longer. DC
