“The shoes I purchased are in a wide (2E) fitting. Nonetheless, my first run out with them (10 miles) produced a lovely bruise/blister around the knuckle of the big toe on my right foot. If I go with these again, I'll have to go for 4Es. This was very disappointing, as these shoes have more padding under the ball of the foot - exactly where it should have helped me out.
The shoes appear well made and follow a wide toebox design (although not wide enough in my case). The cushioning was quite warm and may get somewhat uncomfortable on a hot day (my test run was at close to zero).
These are road shoes, but in these days of social distancing it was necessary to take to the mud/grass on a few occasions. When that happened, these shoes slid all over the place and I had to fall back on walking until I regained a solid path. The tread may wear-in and become grippy, but I'm not very impressed right now. As a related comment, the soles didn't appear to be especially grippy over suburban pavements either - this may have been due to the cold?
The shoes are definitely not waterproof, or anything like it!
I suspect, if I got the right size I would happily recommend these shoes (apart from sliding in the mud). However, I still prefer my new Balance 1080 v10s, or my Brooks Glycerin 16s (both are also in a 2E width).”
