“Early days with just 3 outings under the belt. I have invested in these with view to completing the 117 mile Fife Coastal Path in one go and to set an FKT for other auld wrinklies to aim at!
The shoe fits true to size, and on the foot feels like it should - supportive and somewhere between a fell shoe and a road shoe. I'm a highly experienced runner (started 1982) on all terrains and for me, on hard, dry trails (and definitely any short metalled joining sections) the shoe would benefit from an additional few % / mm or two of cushioning. However, I popped in some gel heal pads and that made all the difference for me (I'm 6 foot and 79kg so not your mountain goat type!). On natural, rough, surfaces from grass, woodland paths, sand, broken trails and moorland the shoe is highly assured and fills you with confidence giving a nice balanced ride with no rolling. I'm looking forward to seeing where the cut-off point is compared to a true fell shoe and to seeing how it performs on wet surfaces (it's been dry for weeks now!). I've given it 4* until I'm able to assess that. It could climb to 4.5* after that. Nothing gets a 5* :)”
