Was looking a pair of Hoka One One running shoes because I developed a sore foot and had to stop running for a while. Couldn't find them anywhere on the usual sites which seem to source them from the continent. Discovered them at Northern Runner which is a UK supplier (much preferred) which seem to have a wide range of specialist running gear. Had to return the item for a larger size as this brand is quite small sized (UK 9.5 = Normal UK 9 for this brand). No problem with the return which was promptly dealt with and is the right size to help me get back on the road again.

I'm a big fella - 95kg - and I'm an over pronator. Never had Hoka One One trainers before but the reviews were good. Only had one 5 mile run in these but they felt great. Really good mix of cushioning and support. Not come across motion control shoes with his much cushioning. Felt good but teh support was good too. I usually wear a UK size 10.5 but the first pair I got in 10.5 were a bit snug. So those lovely people at Northern Runner arranged a quick and easy exchange for a pair in 11 and these are better. So I'd advise, especially if you have wide feet, you go up half a size. First time I've used Northern Runner and I'd recommend them as the customer service was great. Prompt communication over the exchange and they sorted it quickly.

I’ve always Ran in Asics Gel Kayano but fancied a change & friends raved on about “ Hoka’s” , So after popping into Northern runner “Newcastle “ I asked a few questions regarding “Gaviota” shoe & went for them.. 1st run was 8 mile & there are amazing’ really comfortable & springy but jury is out on how long they will last me on distance runs but they are very easy to run in...
