Fantastic light weight hiking boots. Really comfortable, and the waterproofing seems pretty good so far.

As with all my Altras, they are comfortable right out of the box. However, these boots make an annoying sound as you walk. (A bit like wearing flipflops!). This comes from the top of the boot. The material is quite stiff. I nearly returned them but I'm getting used to it now. I just won't use them for quiet walks in the country - rather they're for the heavy, wet, muddy times. I sense that the mesh version without the waterproofing would be quieter.

Love the comfort of the Altra lone peak 4 mid boot (RSM), excellent service from Northern Runner. Had them a year now and still going well. Very early the toe creases wore adjacent to my right first MTP joint and became a mild ingress point but not a big issue as often wear waterproof socks. The lower calves gradually get used to the zero drop. Would buy again.

Brilliant to wear, even with severe bunions, in the hills. Can't comment on longevity etc yet

I wear Altra running shoes for the wide toe box and zero drop, these boots are very lightweight, comfortable to wear straight out of the box. As usual with Altra I needed a full size larger than normal shoe size. I'm not sure I would wear these for running but perfect for hiking. Excellent would highly recommend.

Hi I've been using the Lone Peak 4 mid footware for around ten months and find them just right for me. They are comfy, grippy, waterproof and am getting around 600 miles out a pair. The only down side seems to be, there not always available.
